Dear friends, please allow me to use this form of address and that I use the “Du” in the Diospi Suyana family. I’ve been back from language school for a week now and am starting to use my Spanish on the building site. Udo Klemenz has prepared everything very well and the foreman Edgar has been able to cope with the vacancy. In the meantime, I have moved into the construction office in the Colegio and am now close to the action.
The festival is over, most of the tents have already been dismantled and stored. Most of the “Hotel Diospi-Suyana” has also been cleared away. The MRT has been delivered and is currently being installed by Siemens. Although work is still in full swing at the leisure center, I hope to be able to increase the staff on the school construction site. We are currently only working with 12 people.
The foundation for the elevator has now been concreted. Due to the location in the building, two foundations for two supports also had to be included.
We bought in a very special “colleague” for four hours to dig the foundations for the second building. Of course, there is still some manual work to be done for the finishing touches, because the foundation corners must not be “round”.
At the same time, the first floor slab was reinforced and fitted with the necessary empty pipes for water, sewage and electricity.
Next week I will report in more detail on the other construction activities.
