The Nurse From Vaasa, Finland

A quote from our News story from November 26, 2010:

Wednesday evening and a blizzard sweeps across southern Finland. 400 km to the north-west Dr. John has just spoken at a small congregation in Vaasa. Everyone has long since gone home, only Ann-Charlotte Rönnqvist, Dr. Anna-Lisa Punto and the missionary doctor remain to continue their conversation.

.

Ann-Charlotte Rönnqvist spent thirteen years of her life at the missionary hospital in Shell, Ecuador, returning to Finland in 1998, just as the Johns were beginning their ministry there. “Ann-Charlotte, would you like to serve at a missionary hospital again, this time in Peru?” The question strikes home and you can see it working in the Finnish nurse.

10 months have passed since this encounter. This week Ann-Charlotte arrived in Lima, Peru. Soon she will start her work at Diospi Suyana. IThis shows that the trip to Scandinavia last winter and the long drive through the night paid off. We wish our Finnish nurse a good start in Peru.
