Hello everyone,
This morning at 11am the emergency power generator finally arrived at the hospital. Unfortunately, the front loader, assured to us by the bity council for unloading the machine, was already on it´s way to a distant village. Undeterred, we forged on with Michael and the hospital´s Unimog truck! We were able to get the generator onto the unloading ramp and then used the technique of ancient Roman days, rolling the 4 tonne machine over small round poles, centimetre by centimetre down to the room built for the generator. After 2 hours the machine was finally in its place.
Now we will try to quickly buy the necesary cables to hook up the machine to our power network.
We want to take this opportunity to give our heart-felt thanks to the Peruvian company, Detroit Diesel MTU, for their generous donation of this generator, valued at $60,000USD
