The search started in Siberia

Finally she has reached her goal

The service has just finished in the Eben-Ezer-Kirchengemeinde (Church) in Erfurt.  Its topic was once again Diospi Suyana and our experiences with God.

I start talking to a family and know immediately: “It is for such encounters that it is worth travelling across the whole world!”

Diana grew up in an atheist environment in Siberia.  Her mother is a physics teacher.  Countless times Diana asked herself the question of the meaning of life to which she found no answer.  She threw herself into the field of psychology in the hope of finding an answer; in vain.

In 2008 she moves to Germany and marries Jörg in Erfurt.  Soon their adorable daughter is born, whom they name Mila, the Russian word translates as darling.  But life is not easy for the young Russian woman and above all she continues to struggle with her search for meaning.

6th September 2015.  Diana is invited to the Eben-Ezer-Gemeinde. “A missionary doctor from South America is coming today.  You have to hear what he has to say!”  The German-Russian follows the invitation of her friend and experiences a church service like never before in her life.

Pictures that document God’s work flash across the white screen.  Diana has never heard of “Diospi Suyana” before, but she notices that people make the most amazing experiences when they trust in God. These missionaries have found the strength to overcame selfish interests. It is obvious that they feel fulfilled and totally at peace with their work.

Diana soaks up every word.  She has never heard anyone telling her such good news.  She comes back to church the next Sunday, buys a Bible and spends hours reading stories about God’s work in this world.  Does God exist after all?

The young woman describes herself as a born-again Christian.  “Mr John I have brought my husband with me today. I was dying for him to experience God for himself!“  Then she says a sentence that hits home: “If only I had become a Christian earlier in my life, my life would have been so different!“/KDJ
