It is dark outside and the town of Curahuasi is sleeping peacefully. Everyone that is, except for 1 woman who is working hard in the Delivery Room of Diospi Suyana. At 3:21am the action starts happening as Sophia Anís Brunner makes her way into the world. She is the second daughter of the missionary doctors Laura and Alex Brunner. Weighing in at 3.1kg and with a length of 51cm, all are content.
Dr Jens Hassfeld (OB/GYN) smiles for the camera and mother and father are radiating their joy. The only one expressing displeasure with the commotion is Sofia Anís! She is not only the first baby to be born in the new Delivery Room, but is also the first American/Peruvian baby to be born in Curahuasi.
Diospi Suyana wishes to offer their hearty congratulations to the parents and wishes Sofia Anís beautiful childhood memories for her time spent in the “world’s capital producer of Anis”.
