“I have not regretted it for single second”

Computer scientist Christian van Rensen does not want to waste his life

As soon as the IT specialist opens his mouth, everyone realises that it is a clever guy who is talking.  Born in Würzburg, Christian has a clear vision of his personal life goals.  For him it is extremely important to use the hours he has on this earth most efficiently, not for himself, but for others.  Christian van Rensen’s “social attitude” is based on his belief that God exists and has a life mission for each of us.  This is the theory, but what does it look like in practice?

7 years ago in Hanau Christian listened to one of Dr Klaus John’s presentations.  That evening he suddenly realised that he could pursue his career as an IT professional at the Hospital Diospi Suyana, thereby serving God and mankind, without being a pastor.

He was sixteen years old at the time.  Immediately he emailed Diospi Suyana’s German bureau and promptly received the following answer:  “First finish your studies!”  For years later, with his degree in the bag, he knocked at Diospi Suyana’s door for the second time.  This time it was perfect timing: “For some time now we have been praying for a computer scientist with your suitability profile!” was the positive answer he received.

The years he has been at the Hospital Diospi Suyana have flown by.  “I have not regretted a single second”, comments Christian and continues: “I was perfectly prepared for my tasks.  As a minor subject I studied business administration.  My knowledge in this area has set me up brilliantly for the challenges I face!”

This guy has a lot of drive.  As a young professional, 23 years of age, one could call him a nonpareil.  It is therefore not surprising that he attracted the attention of the media.  The newspaper article recently published in the Badischen Neuesten Nachrichten makes quite clear why Christian is no cookie-cutter.
