Month of the Bible in Peru

The Diospi-Suyana-School honours the Book of Books

The classic of world literature is always worth a mega-festival.  In Peru’s “Month of the Bible“ the pupils of our colegio have come up with some creative ways of expressing the importance of the greatest bestseller of all times.  The programme was made up of poems, songs and theatrical plays.  80 kindergarten children wearing animal costumes reminded the audience of the age-old story of Noah’s ark.

Pupils from the 9th grade put on a dance-performance wearing traditional costumes while children from the 2nd grade had designed posters showing various aspects of God’s Word.  Teacher Jonathan Rosenkranz writes: “When you see how the children express their love of God’s word it motivates one to read it again!”  How true!  The following, heart-warming video-clip is wonderful.  We congratulate the team of teachers headed by Christian Bigalke to this fantastic highlight.

Editor’s note: (s)he who throws the eternal truths of the Bible onto the rubbish dump should not be surprised if society starts to fall apart.  For many thousands of years the “10 Commandments” have proved to be an ideal guiding principle for a functioning human order.  Millions of people in their greatest need have prayed Psalm 23 and have followed the advice given in the Book of Proverbs.  In a dark and huge universe the New Testament proclaims a message that everyone counts.  Why?  Because God loves each one of us.  In Jesus Christ he became personal.  His offer of friendship is for the lonely, the broken, the failures and the sick.  He brings good news for all those who yearn for a hope.  Thus the Bible is my absolute favourite read. /KDJ
