In socially deprived areas in Essen

Diospi Suyana is also involved

The world in the East-end of Essen is colourful, but at the same time problematic.  Many people who live here have a migrant background.  Intact family relations are rarely found in these blocks of houses.  A couple of years ago paediatrician Dr Martin Elsner founded his practise right in the middle of the Natorpstrasse, to serve as an innovative contact point for children and youth.

“The decision to open my practise in this area was not easy,” remembers the friendly doctor.  “Had I opened it in the South City my economic prospects would have been much better.  But as a devout Christian I wanted to go where the need was greatest.  In 2010 the book about Diospi Suyana “I have seen God” was published.  Whilst reading the book it became clear to me that my trust in God’s power was being challenged.  I rose to the challenge, opened the practise and, looking back, God has blessed me in amazing ways!”

200m away from his place of work the doctor founded a church with like-minded Christians eight years ago.  Yesterday morning 120 visitors hailing from countries from across the globe attended the service.  His wife was at the piano; the mother of two would be a fantastic addition to any rock-band.

A convincing approach.  Where practical support is needed, found a doctor’s surgery and establish a church.  Yesterday I could see for myself how such a strategy works.

A successful design: Dr Martin Elsner’s paediatric-practice.
