How can we reduce the Hospital’s Electricity Bill?

To date, Hospital Diospi Suyana pays about $20,000USD annually in electricity. A comparable hospital here would pay at least $30,000USD to the national energy company, Electro Sur. There are a few ways Diospi Suyana could lower this cost.

1)     After discussions with the former Energy Minister, the hospital will receive a permanent discount to its electricity bill of 30%.

2)     Two solar power systems have been installed that provide the hospital’s hot water needs (approx. 2000l/day).

3)     A third solar power system produces enough electricity to power the exterior lighting at the hospital through the night.

4)     Yet another solar plant will be installed in June to provide power for the needs of the Operating Suites.
