Routine or perhaps not?
Boxing Day is no Bank Holiday in Peru. That is why it was back to work as usual on Tuesday. The young woman lying in the hospital bed delivered her first baby by caesarean section yesterday. The 15 year-old is in the 8th grade. Surely it was an unplanned pregnancy. But life is full of surprises, especially if one does not take contraception seriously. Now the pupil is a mother. In March she wants to go back to school. Will she be allowed to breast-feed her baby in the classroom? Will the baby grow up fatherless? The classical concept is mother-father-child.
N.B. 2,000 years ago Mary was probably not much older.
