Barely arrived – already in the operating theater
Last night, her car drove into the village of Curahuasi. Dr. Hilbert de Vries at the wheel, his wife Evelien next to him and their children Sarah, Deborah and Emma in the back seat. The journey from Arequipa had taken 13 hours. For the foreseeable future, the de Vries will now find their new home within sight of the snow-capped mountains.
Today, the general surgeon and Dr. Lukas Steffen operated on a 65-year-old man with cancer. In this case, the bowel was almost completely blocked by the tumor. Everything went well and Dr. Natascha Lopata did not miss a beat during the anesthesia. We extend a warm welcome to our Dutch friends. /KDJ
