Beate Zobel (2nd from left) never had Peru on her radar. But one day she was commissioned by Brunnen Verlag to adapt a US-American book about Diospi Suyana for a German readership. This is how she wrote the exciting book “The Doctor with a Connection to God”. The 208 pages should appeal to young readers in particular. This week, she came to Curahuasi with her son Jonathan to visit the scene of the story. Of course, they also visited Machu Picchu, Cusco and other tourist highlights. Many people have been like the Zobels. They want to see Diospi Suyana with their own eyes at least once and so they book their flights across the ocean. /KDJ
