Small feet – big suffering
In Diospi Suyana’s delivery room a newborn citizen of this world has seen the light of day. But the parents’ joy soon gives way to worry: their little boy has a congenital malformation: the so-called clubfeet. Our obstetrics team will now work closely with our orthopaedic team. Dr Tim Boeker tried to calm the parents. The family will have a difficult next few years. The treatment will consist of plaster casts, splints, special shoes and operations. But we all hope that at the end of this long journey the little boy will be able to walk normally.
