A festive celebration at Jörg Ranau’s, the German Ambassador, residence
The lights of Lima are visible in the distance. Ambassador Jörg Ranau and his wife have invited forty guests representing politics, businesses and churches to attend a special event at the residence. After delivering a festive laudatory the Representative of the Federal President conferred The Order of Merit of the Federal Republic of Germany on the missionary doctors John.
In their speech of thanks Klaus and Martina John said that they were accepting this order in the name of all Diospi Suyana staff and friends. 160 long-term missionaries, 230 companies and 0.1million donors have made Diospi Suyana possible. But through it all it was God who effected everything: the willing and the achievement. To God alone be the glory.
Several of the John’s long-standing companions attended the three-hour cocktail reception. Since the project draft 16 years ago the story of Diospi Suyana has gone round the world. Dr Roger Albornoz Esteban, the former President of the Peruvian Anaesthetists Society, wrote from abroad: “… it is my wish that the God in Heaven, who Dr John always mentions in his talks, continues to bless the work of Diospi Suyana!”
