Breaking news: 2000 registrations for the “Gozo en los Andes” festival

Preparations everywhere

42 days = 6 weeks until the festival starts. Around lunchtime we received the 2000th registration. 500 more registrations are currently being collected in Lima, Puerto Maldonado, Arequipa and elsewhere.

We are well on schedule in all areas. Last year, bus transportation was a weak point that we want to eliminate in the second attempt. Ten buses will travel fixed routes from morning to evening. Each bus driver is expected to make 24 rounds per day. Nevertheless, most participants can expect to walk 5 kilometers a day. This distance is recommended by doctors for general health.

The amphitheater can accommodate 4000 spectators. Container no. 82 (currently in Lima customs) brings additional components for the sound system and tents for 900 campers.

Nine US-Americans have booked their flights to help set up the tents. Their commitment is a welcome support. The mood is good, but as you never know what the day will bring in Peru, the 42 days ahead of us seem like half an eternity. Every Thursday at 6 p.m. we meet in the hospital church for prayer. And when we wake up at night, we pray too. /KDJ

The route was mapped out today with the owner of the bus company.
The standing area behind the amphitheater is currently being landscaped. Pure festival atmosphere!
The men’s sanitary area is being filled, plastered and tiled.
Campsite 2 (men) was enlarged by ten meters to the right. The wall to the street is already in place.
