On Sunday afternoon, the master optician answered exactly that question
Time flew by in the blink of an eye. For three years, Janne Bühne, a master of her craft, ran the optician’s workshop. But that wasn’t all. She also directed the Diospi-Suyana children’s clubs, which are attended by up to 300 children every week. Now she’s setting out for new horizons. At her farewell gathering last Sunday, she recounted an incident that many atheists would likely dismiss as impossible.
Mid-2025. Janne wonders which path in life she should take. Her time at Diospi Suyana was productive and interesting for her, but she instinctively senses that her next calling lies elsewhere.
Last June, she deliberately prayed for God’s guidance. And to credibly express how serious she was, she even fasted. A real statement. For atheists and other skeptics, God doesn’t exist at all, and therefore He cannot guide us humans. Anything beyond that is merely a figment of the imagination of religiously fanatical people. One night, Janne has a dream. She sees a building in front of her and knows that it is a Bible school in an English-speaking country. She has never seen the building before. Strange. What could this possibly mean?
April 2026. Janne is attending a conference for young people in Mexico. She’s interested in Mexico and could even imagine working there long-term someday. For now, though, she wants to attend a Bible school—and there are plenty of them in many countries. At the conference, she hears, among other things, about North Cotes Bible College in England. Great Britain isn’t her dream destination, but back in Peru, she starts googling. When she clicks on the college’s website, it suddenly hits her like a bolt of lightning. The unassuming building matches exactly the image from her dream six months earlier. Now she knows exactly where her journey is headed. Wow!
So a young woman from northern Germany has experienced that the Creator of this world responds specifically to a person’s prayer for guidance. In her case, through a dream. I think we could assume that many more people could experience God’s guidance if they would only ask about God’s will for their lives. How about you? /KDJ
