Many people will hear (and see)

Friday night, September 26. I’m sitting in the recording studio of SWF in Mainz.  At 9:30 a radio segment with BBC 5 is planned. Several technicians have dealt with the quality of the telephone connection. Friday morning Adrian Gibson was able to organize this time in the studio.

“Is this Dr. John?” asks Stephen Nolan. The popular radio entertainer from England is on the line. For 25 minutes he asks me about Diospi Suyana and my faith in God.  Last Saturday this 25 minute segment was broadcast throughout the UK.

Yesterday there were four long radio interviews in the US and I just came from the TV studio CTN in Tampa, Florida. The conversation of half an hour will be broadcast in the US and other countries on November 27th. Didn’t we just have a television report in Puerto Rico and three weeks before in the Middle East? Who would have expected it 10 years ago?

December 2003. Our packed suitcases stood in the courtyard of our adobe house in Curahuasi.  Diospi Suyana was completely unknown and there was nothing to see about a hospital. The John family lived as the only white family under 30,000 Quechuas in the district of Curahuasi.  For two months we slept at night on mattresses on the floor of the house.

Now we wanted to go to Europe and make known our life’s dream of a modern hospital for the descendants of the Incas. More on this from the book I Have Seen God!

One morning before our departure, I was reading Psalm 40. Verse 3 says: “He put a new song in my mouth, a hymn of praise to our God. Many will see and fear and put their trust in the Lord.”
As I placed a bookmark in the page, I started thinking. Would our story be so exciting that one day many would want to hear it? Could the tale of Diospi Suyana possibly become the chronicle of a modern-day experience with God? So far, we didn’t have much to show except a very bold plan. But deep within me, I sensed that these promises from God’s Word would be fulfilled in our lives – in a way that would take our breath away.
