It was a long road to the donation of a new MRI scanner
In the picture they are playing the crazy ones and in the opinion of many people they are. Who would dive into the mountains of Peru for several years to work at a hospital or a school for no profit?
Diospi Suyana is a success story through the goodness of God. That is why this work of faith continues to fascinate us. But beyond that, several hundred women and men have driven Diospi Suyana’s projects forward on a voluntary basis. They did this in Curahuasi in a selfless way.
Since 2004, thousands and thousands of private donations have made the construction and operation of the Diospi Suyana hospital possible. Thanks to the willingness of our friends all over the world to make sacrifices, the conditions exist for the meaningful use of an MRI.
We would of course like to thank the three winners of the Future Prize 2023 from the bottom of our hearts! – Dr. Stephan Biber, Dr. David Grodzki and Prof. Dr. Michael Uder have moved the new MRI from the realm of the hypothetical into a real world with their prize money and their powers of persuasion. And without the good will of the Siemens Group, all hopes would have fizzled out in vain.
Thanks to all employees on both sides of the Atlantic for their contribution. Diospi Suyana was and is a work that stands on many shoulders. /KDJ
