Unforgettable community experiences

United we march, united we wait

On Friday afternoon Diospi Suyana’s missionaries drove to Urubamba to strengthen their community-spirit through seminars and workshops.  That morning they had already proven their solidarity when they marched in rank and file at the city’s festival.  This compulsory exercise is a tribute paid to the quips and quirks of the City of Curahuasi.

After the parade the staff members drove off, but came to a grinding halt not soon afterwards: roadworks on the national road caused them to wait 90 minutes in a traffic jam.  A unique opportunity to strengthen the community-spirit through conversations: one could call it the practical part!  A sorrow shared is a sorrow halved, a joy shared is a joy doubled.

After such a Friday Diospi Suyana’s missionaries can confirm the truth of the above quoted proverb. (Photos by Renate Malisi)

Through the conversations the traffic jam turns into a group-dynamic highlight.
