An Unlikely Friendship That Has Lasted 17 Years
Sebastian Zileri and his daughter Silvana are riding their motorcycle south across half the continent. Their detour to Curahuasi to visit Diospi Suyana strengthened a bond that goes back many years.
Seventy-six years ago, his grandmother founded the magazine *Caretas*, which has become a true institution in Peru. Over the decades, its investigative journalism has evolved into a bulwark against corruption and abuse of power. The third generation of the Zileri family consists of five siblings. They live in Peru and the United States. Although their worldviews differ quite a bit, they have one thing in common: they feel a deep affinity for Diospi Suyana. And four of them have already attended a presentation in person about the work of our mission organization.
Five articles and features have been published so far in *Caretas* about Diospi Suyana. The most recent four-page article saved the blood bank at our mission hospital (see Book 4: An Experiment with God). The support from the Zileris is a tremendous blessing for our facility.
We wish the two adventurers a safe journey on the treacherous South American backroads. /KDJ
