The 17th annual celebration of the Diospi Suyana Hospital

550,000 patient visits – a hospital full of life

Diospi Suyana is more than a job, it is a passion. And the 17th anniversary was more like a family outing than a staff meeting. A good 200 employees – Peruvians and missionaries alike – spent a wonderful morning on the lower festival grounds in Lucmus.

We look back on 17 years of turbulent growth. Diospi Suyana continues to reach its target group, namely the poor rural population of southern Peru. There is probably no other hospital in the world that charges just one euro (USD 1.2) for an examination in the outpatient clinics. The hallmarks are respect, quality and loving care in the name of faith.

We thank all donors worldwide who have helped us to realize the dream of Diospi Suyana. And we thank God who has commissioned, called and blessed us. These have truly been exciting years. If we had known back then – in 2003 – what lay ahead of us, we would not have had the courage to take this path. /KDJ (Photos Marielene Lächele and Lego Meza)
