Dörte Bishop writes: “Did you know that the most beautiful Christmas market in Berlin takes place in Neukölln of all places? And it is even organized by the state authorities. In December 2024, visitors were able to buy delicious vegan sausages, hot punch and attractive Christmas presents for the 9th time in a row and thus support Diospi Suyana.
Over three days of sales, a total of almost 2,200 sausages and 2,500 cups of punch were sold within 17 hours. A team of 40 people from Oranienburg and Berlin covered all shifts. The youngest member of the team was 11 years old, the oldest 83. Ten talented people put together the sales assortment and made their products available for the price of the materials. All handmade and lots of upcycling! The sustainable, washable pot scraper sold like hot cakes!
The best part, however, were the conversations with people from all over the world, to whom we told the fascinating story of Diospi Suyana. With such a great group of volunteers, barbecuing and selling were really fun again. Reserve the 2nd weekend of Advent 2025 for the Rixdorf Christmas Market. You are very welcome in front of or behind the stand. Then we’ll celebrate our 10th anniversary together!”
