A current interview with master orthopaedic technician Christian Haupt
A pretty little girl with a magical laugh. But all was not right with the world for the patient. Mariafe is 9 years old.
She was born with a deformity of the right leg. And although her family lives near the capital Lima, no suitable care was available. In a country like Peru, disabled people don’t have it easy. They are marginalized and discriminated against. No support programs!
Fortunately, there was a solution for Mariafe at Diospi Suyana’s orthopaedic center. The picture above shows master craftsman Christian Haupt kneeling down in front of Mariafe and working intently on many details. The result was a robust prosthesis with which Mariafe can even do sports.
The online magazine “BARRIERE FREI” contains a detailed report on Christian Haupt’s work. So far, patients from all 24 states have been treated in our workshop. The positive changes in the lives of so many women, men and children cannot be measured, only imagined. We congratulate Christian on this excellent article in a German trade journal.
