Good news from the construction office

Of course from Udo Klemenz

Dear Diospi Suyana friends, although we are working with only 10 workers on two fronts, the construction progress is quite satisfactory. I am trying to hire more workers, but it is not easy to find capable people with the current construction boom in Curahuasi.

At the warehouse, the foundations and floor slab were completed during the reporting week. The 40 cm thick back wall is bricked to 1.50 m high. Now the bracing columns and the cross beam are reinforced, shuttered and concreted.

At campsite 2 in Lucmos we set up the construction site for the recreation home. The mechanically excavated 32 m long and 2.80 m wide foundation trench for the retaining wall was profiled in painstaking manual work. Due to the poor subsoil, a base course of lean concrete up to 1.00 m thick must now be placed in places.

With our modest capabilities, this subsoil improvement is obviously a major challenge and will take some time to complete.

A blessed weekend wishes, Udo
