Many things are planned for 2021
The Christmas festive period is coming to a close and we hope that the Corona-Pandemic will also be over soon. In the upcoming year we want to extend all of our fields of work.
The Corona-restrictions have made the patients’ journey to Curahuasi more difficult. Should the vaccinations provide real protection then the patients will flock to us. Men, women and children who desperately need help, but have so far stayed at home due to fear of infection, will board buses and drive to Curahuasi. Diospi Suyana is prepared.
At the Diospi-Suyana-School we and our pupils can hardly wait for the classroom teaching to recommence. For one whole year the pupils have had to put up with not being taught in their classrooms. The consequences were serious: abuse, excessive TV-watching, boredom and lack of encouraging motivation to learn. Despite the excellent distance learning organised by our teachers the pupils want to sit down again at their desks in their classroom and call “Good morning Mrs Teacher, hello Mr Teacher!”
Our own radio-TV-channel is just about to make the next quantum leap. The electricity connection to our aerial tower in Abancay is finished (see below picture). In the city of Sicuani the technical parts will be installed in January. The heavy pipe in the above photo holds the large Parabol-antenna that will receive the signal from the Intelsat-satellite. Through our presence at Abancay and Sicuani a further quarter of a million Peruvians will be able to tune into our programme. Simply fantastic!
And of course our 12 children’s club will start up again. Up to 400 boys and girls have eagerly awaited the weekly meetings. They will restart again soon; finally!
Every year the available radius of action for Diospi Suyana increases. The opportunities increase, the resources are there.
So let’s get started. No blind actionism, but we are using our God-given talents to bless other people and to bring glory to the Almighty God. /KDJ
