After a trip full of surprises, Dr Klaus John arrived in Germany today. He had to fly through Caracas, Venezuela because Air Canada had cancelled their flight via Toronto.
Near Frankfurt airport a banner has been posted on the ground, which reads “Geiz macht krank” (Greed makes you sick). Sometimes one is tempted to believe that the well-known German advertising slogan “Geiz is geil” (Greed is cool.) is characteristic for German society. The bible says that greed is the root of all evil. And, Jesus says that giving is better than taking.
We at Diospi Suyana are thankful that thousands of people do not believe in the slogan “Greed is cool.” They know that solidarity with the poor, the disenfranchised and broken people of this world is an expression of our thankfulness towards God.
There is a hospital in the Southern Peruvian Andes because many friends of Diospi Suyana have shared their money and possessions. We hope that Dr John will have equally positive experiences during his current fundraising trip through Germany.
