Dinsdag in The Netherlands

A lot going on, but Van Gogh is sceptical

100 students are sitting in one CHE in Ede’s lecture theatres. One would hear a pin drop. After the presentation when the opportunity for questions is given most of the audience remains speechless: most of them have never heard a story like Diospi Suyana’s before. Should it really be possible that God works in such amazing and tangible ways in the 21st Century?

Change of scene: lunchtime in a restaurant in Apeldoorn. Two members of the Band Trinity are speaking to Dr John and John Lentink about the planned Youth Festival 2019 in Curahuasi. Brainstorming. Ideas are flying across the table. Looking down from his picture Van Gogh is appearing more and more confounded: he will definitely not support Diospi Suyana.

From left to right: John Lentink, Johan Smelt, Dr Klaus John and Elbert Smelt.

Elise Verschuure, who writes for the Reformatorisch Dagblad, pays keen attention to the presentation going on three metres in front of her. Hopefully she will write an exciting article about Diospi Suyana for her newspaper which has a readership of 0.15million in the Netherlands, and which will thus make our missionary hospital better known.

Then we continued on to the North Sea, just missing heavy traffic. That evening the residents of Amsterdam were given the opportunity to travel to Peru. Then we returned back to Zwolle via Ede.
