Container #30 Still Stuck In Customs

Most people are unfamiliar with the acronyms IPEN and OZO. They stand for two agencies which are delaying the clearance of our container through customs in Lima.

The IPEN is a government agency responsible for, among other things, the monitoring of x-ray equipment. Since one of the many boxes inside the container contains a small replacement part for our dental clinic’s x-ray machine, the IPEN needs to be involved. For days now, we have been waiting for their approval, although we were told numerous times that the form will be ready the following morning.

In addition, the container includes five new refrigerators for the Diospi Suyana Children’s House. The Peruvian agency OZO’s deals with the protection of the ozone layer. We have presented the required paperwork from Germany documenting the safety of the fridge aggregates a long time ago. Nevertheless, we are still waiting for the agency’s green light.
