At the Aumund Foundation in Rheinberg

Every kilometer driven was worth it

Rheinberg is located near Kamp Lintford in North Rhine-Westphalia, very close to the Dutch border. And in the middle of the historic town center is a building from the 16th century in which the Aumund Foundation maintains its beneficial support for many meaningful projects.

A traffic jam before Bonn and a long construction site near Cologne. Lashing rain and dark clouds. To top it all off, a chemical spill had completely paralyzed the town of Rheinberg. The missionary doctor from Peru then had to cover the last few kilometers on foot. But the effort was worth it.

After an update on the developments of the past 15 months, Dr. John spoke about the current needs at the Hospital Diospi Suyana. Katja Jüngst and Susanne Weiss from the Aumund Foundation listened attentively and expressed their support. The eye clinic and the sterilization department of the hospital have good reason to be hopeful.
And even the training of Peruvian doctors is on the agenda.

For almost four years now, the life’s work of founder Franz-Walter Aumund has also benefited our work in Peru.
The staff and our patients can already look forward to this. /KDJ (Caption from right to left: Susanne Weiss, Katja Jüngst and Dr. Klaus John. The picture on the wall shows the philanthropist Franz-Walter Aumund).
