… now also work in the traumatology department
It must have been a good and convincing presentation that Dr Tim Boeker held at the University Cayetano back in April. Shortly afterwards Dra Silvia Fuente volunteered to join the traumatology team as an assistant doctor (middle of the picture) for one month.
To date the Hospital Diospi Suyana has hosted assistant doctors in the medical fields of gynaecology, urology, anaesthesia and general medicine. It is a give and take: the young colleagues can learn a lot from the missionary doctors, but at the same time they help coping with the daily work.
The Peruvian Dra Fuente was amazed by the excellent equipment of our bone surgical department. In Lima patients have to wait for their operation weeks on end until the required implants (screws, discs and nails) are available. In this context we cordially thank the company Königsee Implantate based in Allendorf, Thüringia for their generous support. When helping many poor patients, Dr Boeker uses their donations in kind.
