Four construction projects are no mean feat
Dear friends, in addition to my three construction projects, a fourth, the amphitheater extension, has been added in the meantime, leaving too little time for reporting. A lot has happened in the last few weeks. We are now in the rainy season and I am grateful that the construction sites have not yet sunk into the mud. I wonder if your prayers have anything to do with it?
Work will also continue between the years. In Perú, only December 25 and January 1 are public holidays.
Colegio: The last ceiling has been concreted on building A and will be stripped before Christmas. Once the formwork for the ceiling has disappeared, the parapets on the “pergola” will be bricked in and then the “major plastering” will begin to plaster the walls.
We are also making progress on House B with the remaining 12 construction workers. The elevator is currently being shuttered so that the last section can be concreted. At the same time, the remaining columns and beams are being concreted. As the bricklaying work progresses, the rooms with the doors and windows can also be seen here. The concreting of the final ceiling is not planned until next year.
We have started looking for a company to build the roofs. The tendering process is slightly different to that in Germany. Companies are contacted directly and then submit an offer based on the plans.
The fencing around the property will also be finished by Christmas and we can then store materials on the property with peace of mind.
Residencia II/guest house: There are currently around 30 people working on the construction site, which makes it a challenge to monitor the work so as not to overlook details that will cost a lot of money later on. In the coming week, the ceiling above the upper floor will be concreted and then the roof will be erected. The roof trusses are already ready for installation. On the upper floor, the floor plan is now clearly visible and if it weren’t for the many steel supports for the ceiling formwork standing around, one would already have a beautiful view over the hospital to the Andes. It is due to the building construction that the foundation pipes and the floor slab have not yet had to be started. The underground pipes and the entire ground floor can now be built independently of the rain. An interesting construction method for me. Nevertheless, the shell will not be completed by Christmas. (See picture above)
Christian meeting place/leisure center: The floor in the large conference room has been laid and the floorboards of the rear balconies are being finished these days. The next container will then bring the equipment for the canteen kitchen on the second floor.
Amphitheater: The amphitheater is to be expanded to 5,000 seats. With so many visitors, the safety aspect of the steel structure naturally plays an important role. In my analysis of the statics, I was able to point out a number of weak points, which are now being eliminated during the construction phase.
I thank you for your interest, wish you a blessed Christmas and thank you for continuing to support Diospi Suyana’s building activities in prayer.
Saludos, Christian
