18 days to go – progress is between dark red and dark green

A certain hectic pace is unmistakable

Amphitheater: everything could be ready by midnight on April 25. The sticking point is the roof. Ten people are to lay the tarpaulins on the front roof first, followed by the rear roof. Unfortunately, the work will not start until Monday, April 13. Here we are in the dark red area.

Guest house/hotel: doors, lamps, bathrooms, railings. The kitchen appliances (see above) are in a truck between Lima and Curahuasi. The main power cable is waiting to be connected. Principle of hope: Many hard-working people are scurrying about in the orange area.

Campsites: Good progress with setting up the tents. We are in the green zone.

Festival offices: According to Hanna Tielmann (the absolute authority on data collection) we are at 3,048 confirmed registrations. This is excellent news. Certificate: Dark green area.

Lima: The print shop is to print over 5,000 festival brochures and 5,000 books. The proofs are checked. Time is extremely tight. In the end, every day will count. Red area.

There has been no electricity in the state of Apurimac since yesterday. The hospital’s generator has been running continuously. Red area.

Weather: The rainfall has eased considerably. The dry season is on its way. Green area.

Peru: The first round of the presidential election will take place next Sunday. 35 candidates. Everything is still peaceful on the streets. Orange area.
