Ever ready
Family Boeker have just sat down for dinner with friends and are looking forward to a relaxing start to their weekend when suddenly Tim’s mobile rings. An emergency. The traumatologist rushes to the clinic. By the time he gets home the guests have long gone and his wife and children are fast asleep. What happened? A young man had a motorbike accident. When he was admitted to the Hospital Diospi Suyana the doctor on duty diagnosed several minor injuries and an open fracture of the lower leg, i.e. bones are protruding from the wound.

Such an injury needs to be operated on immediately. The anesthesia- and the operating-teams started work. They operated well into the night and stabilised the fracture with a so-called external fixation. Thanks to the joint effort the patient could lift up his leg by himself the next day. The dinner date with the Boeker family will be rescheduled. However, the mobile won’t be turned off.
