On the A3 in a traffic jam – there are no coincidences

The cell phone conversation on the passenger seat

Friday afternoon on the A3 – in a traffic jam, of course. But since my wife is at the wheel and we can talk undisturbed, I have the feeling of a great vacation. Destination Munich. Somewhere between Frankfurt and Würzburg I make some phone calls. An appointment in the north of the republic is quickly bagged Now I dial a number that administrative director Louis Fischer has thankfully sent me.

The thoughts rush back. 15 years ago, this journalist wrote an important report about Diospi Suyana. His article reached a good 600,000 readers at the time. He is now head of public relations for a major hospital operator in Germany. “I should get back to him sometime,” this spontaneous inspiration a few days ago suddenly sat in my head.

I press the button in the cell phone and wait. 15 seconds pass and then there is a click on the line. A voice from the old days sounds from the small speaker of my smartphone. Immediately I come to the topic. “Mr. N. I am on a lecture tour right now and I thought of you. I would love to visit you to see how things have progressed at Diospi Suyana!”

In the earpiece a short pause. Then the journalist says, “Mr. John, I’m getting very spooky. Just yesterday, I looked at your website to see the media coverage of the last few years. There’s no such thing!”

The date is set for next week. Something sensible will come out of it, because the meeting was thought up by someone who holds all the strings. /KDJ
