Now comes the practical test

Will the young people live their faith?

The guests from home and abroad have long since departed. Silence lies over the tent camps (top right) and the amphitheater (top left). Work on the tent roof will continue over the next few days. The peace and quiet is good for us. We have made up for the lack of sleep of the last few weeks. The five-day state of emergency is a thing of the past and the hype has died down.

Big numbers and an incredible reach of 4.362 million clicks on social media. A record for Diospi Suyana and an incentive to use this enormous potential in the future.

Christian music and church services, workshops and devotions. In fact, “Luz en los Andes” was a real church day. Until the end of the major event, young people took advantage of the talks offered by pastors. Countless young people entrusted their lives to God and received a free copy of the Gospel of John. They carried the impulses of the festival back to their towns, villages, churches and homes.

Now it must be shown what faith is worth. Jesus Christ offers young people and all of us his forgiveness and friendship. Discipleship proves itself in the minefield of daily life and not shielded in a cushioned pew on Sunday.

We thank God for five days full of highlights. From morning to night, we heard two words over and over again from all sides: “Muchas gracias!” (Thank you very much). /KDJ

Large posters in several places in the town showed the route of the festival buses. Use of the 13 buses was free of charge for the young people.
