Major medical operation in the city prison

Diospi Suyana under lock and key

Dr. Lukas Steffen reports briefly and concisely: “We set off at 6:30 a.m. on Saturday morning (17 January). Seven vehicles brought 38 people over the mountains to the prison in Abancay. We had stocked up well with materials, medicines and literature. After the greetings and two songs, a short sermon followed with the call to entrust one’s life to God. Our medical services consisted of the following specialties: General Medicine, Urology, Phyisiotherapy, Surgery, Opftalmology, Dentistry. We also had a small pharmacy and even offered psychological support. Over 260 of the inmates were treated by us. (Two thirds of the inmates)!”

These prison visits are a very important part of Diospi Suyana’s work. 2,000 years ago Jesus Christ said: “I was in prison and you visited me (or did not visit me)!”
