Life without a wheelchair

Thanks to orthopaedic-technician Daniel Müller

Sra Juana S. is as happy as can be, since, after living her life for months as a handicapped patient, she can finally say farewell to her wheelchair.  A year ago the diabetic had to undergo a transtibial amputation.  For everyone an awful piece of news.  But for a week now she is full of smiles again.  The reason: she can walk again without crutches.

Drawing on diligence and experience Daniel Müller made and fitted the prosthesis.  In a few days the patient will come back again to the Orthopaedic Workshop where her artificial limb will be covered with foamed plastic. This will make it appear elegant.

Daniel Müller left, the happy patient right.

From her heart Juana is thankful for the specialised assistance.  Understandably she will never forget last Thursday.  For this positive turn in her life she had absolutely no problem in travelling the 15 hours from Puerto Maldonado to Curahuasi.

The prosthesis fits well.

N.B. Juana is a proud listener of Diospi-Suyana-Radio.  Today, Monday, Daniel Müller will send her greetings from the studio in Curahuasi via the ether waves.  We can all rejoice with the Peruvian.  She made a point of allowing us to publish her story.

From now on her wheelchair is history.
