A construction report a good two weeks before the start of the festival

Several companies and own personnel in action

Dear Diospi Suyana friends, the week has passed far too quickly and the time until the festival is getting shorter and shorter. Although rainy days keep hindering the work, we have made good progress on the school building site.

All 25 individual foundations have been concreted and most of the trenches for the beam grid have been excavated and provided with a clean layer. The reinforcement cages for the foundation beams are now being produced and the side formwork prepared.

Down in Lucmos on the women’s campsite, up to 40 tents are set up every day, depending on the weather. Lawns are laid on the extension of the middle men’s campsite and further terraces are created. A subcontractor is fencing off the area and concreting an access lane for emergency vehicles to set up the tents and for emergencies. The deadline pressure is particularly high in this section.

Tiles are still being laid in the leisure center and work is underway on the acoustic ceiling in the conference room.

In the carpentry workshop, skilled floor layers from Germany prepare the Capinuri wooden planks for the floor in the conference hall, a very complex and specialized task.

There is still new modification work to be mentioned in the premises for MRI assembly, which is due to start this month.

Best wishes from Curahuasi and a blessed weekend, Udo
