When Gerhard and Heike Wieland arrived in Peru 3 years ago, they were among the first missionaries with Diospi Suyana. Gerhard has worked in the hospital as both a nurse and in the purchasing department. Heike helped set up the Outpatient Clinic and organized the hospital’s uniforms. In their spare time they both were heavily involved in the Kids’ Club ministries. Since first arriving in Peru their first child, Jule, was born.
Yesterday the missionaries held a farewell for the Wielands. They will be sorely missed in Curahuasi – their dedication, their enthusiasm, their willingness to jump in and help wherever needed and their unwavering loyalty to the mission hospital.
We pray safe travels for the Wieland and wish them a smooth return to their life in Germany.
