Tea grown in Curahuasi
For the 14th time since 2004 the Friends of Diospi Suyana will receive a small gift in their Christmas Letter 2017. Yesterday 14 volunteers added an aniseed teabag to each of the nearly 9,000 envelopes. Curahuasi is the Aniseed World Capital.
It was a challenge getting the teabags or should I say getting enough teabags to Germany. John and Viola Lentink were the main “tea clipper”, having several suitcases full of Aniseed Tea. At night they met Karin Straßheim on a public car park near Butzbach to hand over the goods. Thankfully no police car was passing by, since the police officers could have mistaken the tea for drugs.
Before you read our Christmas Letter 2017, make yourself a mug of aniseed tea. A cordial thank you to all the “tea clippers” and also to all those helpers who so lovingly packed everything yesterday.
