What happened one night

In the hills above the Hospital Diospi Suyana

On Saturday evening 50 grown-ups and a few children met outside the hospital’s entrance gate.  They wanted to take part in a small pilgrimage.  Dr David Brady explained what was on the programme: a silent march.  In order that no one would stumble walking along the steep paths in the dark Christian van Rensen had organised torches.  To start with one heard some children whispering, but once the ascent started, silence descended over the group.

Time for reflection.  Everyone’s thoughts wander to the topics and situations that are currently concerning him/her the most.  We all have our load to bear and none of us know what tomorrow will bring.  Only the pilgrims’ footsteps break the silence.  But the inner voices are speaking loudly.  “Quo vadis” where are you going?  Don’t we read in Psalm 23 „ Even though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil, for you are with me; your rod and your staff, they comfort me.” /KDJ
