Dr. Lukas Steffen is a rock in the operating room
Unless more surgical emergencies come in, he will have performed 15 major procedures in five days. And if his phone should ring during the night, he jumps out of bed and rushes to the operating theater. The Swiss Dr. Steffen is a missionary doctor with heart and soul. The woman with the blue jacket comes from the distant state of Ayacucho. On his left, a patient from Apurimac gives a thumbs-up. The indestructible “William Tell the Second” operated on both with success.
Next door are four women from three states. The patient on the left at the window comes from the capital Lima. If you suspect that Dr. Steffen was at work here as well, you are absolutely right.
Ten mission doctors can do a lot, but if we had 20 medical missionaries, there would be much more.
