It is significant that even atheists warn of atheism! For the socialist, Gegor Gysi, a godless society is a terrible idea. In ZDF he said, “a godless society: that is a society of pure pragmatism, where one thinks only about today and tomorrow and has no moral binding standards. Only churches would be able to reasonably formulate binding moral standards, which formerly was the left party!”
Nevertheless, the Spiegel journalist and ex-communist Matthias Matussek is not wrong when he accuses Gysi, “to see religion as a social engineer. We need a pumping station for morality, a little ethical heat for society.” In the newspaper Idea, Matussek said in an interview, “The Church is not primarily a supplier of values, but a community of believers that believe the whole faith, not only the ethical dimension is considered.” “Christianity is not just a culture or ideology or system of lofty principles and values. Christianity is a person, a presence, a face: Jesus Christ, who give people’s lives meaning and content.” (Pope John Paul II)
If this message is no longer a central, unrivaled important element of the church proclamation, than this organization delivers stones instead of bread. Where else can the peace of mind and the heart find peace? Where else can they be comforted? Where are there constructive and encouraging sermons?

Synods degenerated into political parliaments, which flood the world with public statements and documents to those who are not ready and are not needed…
