Reporting on last week
Dear friends, the main activities this week focused on the third stage of construction. The lateral ring-wall opening and all the cross beams have been poured in place. The middle longitudinal carrier beam is currently being shuttered and reinforced step by step. The floor formwork of the beam is generously construed– at the same time it functions as a working platform for the roof truss assembly.
The south side of the second stage of construction has been plastered. The existing outside scaffolding is now being used by a subcontractor who is affixing the edges of the roof and the rain pipes. Our plasterers are continuing their work inside as part of the first stage of construction. Unfortunately we do not have enough scaffolding material to enable us to perform these works simultaneously.
The second flight of stairs and the pedestal of the outside staircase have been concreted and the eastern outside wall has been errected. Now a working platform needs to be erected in order to encase the ascending supports, the ceiling joists and later the roof tiles.
We have completed the foundation works for the emergency exit. With best regards from Curahuasi and wishing you a blessed week, Udo.
