And his patient has got rid of one big problem
It was a long journey before Dr Zeier took hold of a scalpel in one of the missionary hospital’s operating theatres. Last year the urologist and emergency physician gave 92 talks in Germany.
He had only just built up his support network of friends when he, his wife Lena and their five children boarded the plane to Peru. That was on 14th January 2020. Family Zeier spent the next three months at a language school in the South-Peruvian city of Arequipa. In the midst of the whole Corona-upheaval the Zeiers arrived in Curahuasi a few weeks ago and started to build their new home.
Last Friday the doctor hailing from Baden-Württemberg helped a patient who had travelled ten hours from distant Puno. In the operating theatre the urologist found an adequate solution for his urinating problem.
The thankful Quechua-Indian has long returned to his home near Lake Titicaca. We are delighted that our hospital’s urological department has a future with Dr Zeier. Family Zeier’s website is: www.missionsarzt.de
