The water that supplies Hospital Diospi Suyana comes from up in the mountains. It flows through hydro-electric turbines further up the mountain and then continues its descent into the hospital’s cisterns.
During the rainy season landslides are a frequent problem. Whenever the shifted soil clogs the water courses, a team of laborers must find the blockage and then clear it. Soon work will commence on Diospi Suyana’s final water well, but until then, then workers will continue to carry their shovels up into the mountains.
After all, entire civilizations in the history of mankind have become extinct purely due to water shortages!
