Has the countdown to the President’s last five days started?

Universal helplessness on all political levels.  A ¾ majority in Congress voted to start the next step of the President’s impeachment process.  On Thursday morning the President has to answer Parliament’s questions.  If he is unable to rebut the corruption and untruthfulness allegations against him, he will lose his job that same day should two-thirds of the parliamentarians vote against him.

And what happens then?  No one quite knows what will happen after such a decision or who would fill the power vacuum.  The First Deputy Minister, Martin Vizcarra, lost his job a couple of months ago and is now the Peruvian Ambassador in Canada.

Everyone is currently holding their breath.  At the present time no one expects a military coup.  But what will happen, if things start getting out of control?

The newspapers know only one topic: the government crisis.
