Udo Klemenz Is Never Bored

Dear Friends of Diospi Suyana,

We have had crazy weather here in Curahuasi. Last week, we had summer temperatures; this week it is cold, gray and rainy and I had to pull out my fleece jacket.

There is not much news regarding the Children’s House, so I hope my reports and photos aren’t too boring.

This week – like last week, we focused on plastering and tiling jobs. On the third floor, a painter has already started to prep one of the apartments: sanding, smoothing and priming. The windows, which are being sent from Lima, are said to be on their way but, unfortunately, we can’t be sure. So, we are waiting.

On the second floor, we are about to finish the tile work. Screed is being applied to the stairways while the stairs are being prepped for the tiling.

On the first floor, we are pretty much done with the screed application, except for one storage room.

On the west side of the building, the installation of the scaffolding turned out be quite challenging due to the slope of the lot. But we have already plastered half of the facade and part of the scaffolding could be taken down.

Have a blessed 4th Advent Sunday.

Yours Udo.
