The above picture shows our employee-representative Marion Hofmann surrounded by our volunteer-workers. Despite everyone smiling into the camera, everyone’s disappointment is huge. The six youths who went about their tasks at the school and the hospital energetically sadly have to stop their one year’s voluntary service at Diospi Suyana with immediate effect due to the Corona-crisis.
Today, Tuesday they are being evacuated from Cusco via Santiago to Frankfurt. Right up the last minute Janna Kliesch, Elena Kemmann, Berta-Aileen Stahl, Madita Hemcke, Julian Ad and Selina Waltersbacher had hoped to be able to stay in Curahuasi. But the highest echelons of government had the last word.
We will especially miss our friends’ enthusiasm and wish them travelling mercies and God’s rich blessing. /KDJ
