The Gilbert Family Spotted in Curahuasi
For several years now, the Gilberts have been following the development of Diospi Suyana. At some point, it must have really captured their interest, because they applied on their own to serve there for three years. Now they’re here. The photo above was taken just a few hours ago. Dr. Gunnar Gilbert, an anesthesiologist, and his wife Patricia, an experienced social worker, will begin studying Spanish in a few days.
The children—Luise (3), Matthis (8), and Merle (8)—are very important members of the team. No one knows this better than their grandparents back home in Hesse. The Gilberts (Sr.) will likely soon be drawn to South America. Partly because of the gold in the Andes, and partly because of their grandchildren in Curahuasi. We wish the Gilberts a productive start in Peru. /KDJ
